Early life
In the world of music, Jonathan Lyndale Kirk has been described as a cross between hip hop and R&B. At a young age, he began to take an interest in listening to rap music. And was heavily influenced by 50 Cent. He graduated from high school at age 14 and moved to Charlotte to pursue a music career. When he was 17, he decided to go to college for one year before he moved to Nashville and worked on his music.
Career
Baby Talk Series from 2014-2018 (Baby Jesus)
2015 was Kirk’s year of self-introduction. He started with Nonfiction, followed by God’s Work, followed by his Baby Talk series. And finally, his Billion Dollar Baby. It would be another year before he could get his baby Jesus shut out.
He at first performed under the name Baby Jesus, which he, at last. Decided to change to Jesus, because it sounded too much like “baby”.
Kirk stumbled upon the opportunity of a lifetime after marking Arnold Taylor, the leader of the South Coast Music Group, a major radio advertiser. Taylor saw Kirk perform around North Carolina clubs at the time he was sending off his marks. They began working together, and then it was on to other groups in the south. They continued to get a lot of radio airplay and had shown mixtapes, and, club shows and Kirk was seeing as his sound.
Baby on Baby and Kirk (2019)
The first release from Kirk’s new label was Baby on Baby, an EP with four tracks produced by Kuk Harrell. The thirteen-track project highlights visitor appearances from Offset, Rich Homie Quan, Rich the Kid, and Stunna 4 Vegas. Child on Baby appeared at number 25 on the Billboard 200 collections graph in the US. The melody “Suge” appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 87 on the outline dated April 13, 2019, and later arrived at the main 10, on the graph dated June 8, 2019.
Kirk highlighted several hits throughout late 2019, including Megan the Stallion’s “Money Shit” and Quality Control’s “Child”, the two of which arrived at the main 40 on the Billboard Hot 100.
On July 5, 2019, Kirk made a great appearance on Dream Villeβs Revenge of the Dreamers III album, which the co-executive produced with J. Cole.
Blame it on Baby (2020)
Kirk has made the transition from an indie artist to a mainstream star, but not without some ups and downs. He hit number one on Billboardβs charts with his third studio album βBlame It on Babyβ in March and has since dropped five singles off that record, including his first number-one single βSugeβ. He also released a new track with Roddy Ricch called βRockstarβ which hit number one in the U.K., proving he still has a fanbase and can connect with fans outside the rap scene. As his career continues to take off and he gains more attention, he will no doubt continue to be successful.
DaBaby Meme
The career of DaBaby meme is one of the most interesting ones of the past couple of years. The young star has released two mixtapes and had several songs with artists such as Post Malone, Meek Mill, 6ix9ine, and, others appearing in their top 40 singles and albums. For example, DaBaby turned into the seventh demo to diagram around 3 melodies in the best 6 at the same time.
Creativity
The music critic Charles Holmes, known for his “positive progress” approach to reviewing hip-hop albums, has claimed that Eminem’s 2003 debut album Infinite is an exception to the rule. “If Kirk did that [rapped after the beat], he wouldn’t have had to have made ‘Suge’. I don’t know if anybody else would’ve ever done it. Talking on his persuasive arguments, Kirk has said he focused on craftsmen like Future, Lil Wayne, and Kanye West, who he says “came up and reliably advanced”.
He further explained: “I’ve focused on all the virtuoso advertisers all through the rap game. I acquire from anyone with something to offer”. Jeff Weiss of The Guardian well contrasted with Kirk to Busta Rhymes, Eminem, Missy Elliott, and Ludacris, taking note of the similarities in their melodic styles which incorporate “innovative rap beauticians unafraid to make recordings loaded with interesting spoofs and elastic confronted camera goofs”.
Kirk was a man who mirrored a chronologically misguided way to deal with the rap game. It was as if he believed that you canβt sing about getting high or being bitter without singing about drugs.
Conclusion
Kirk has had an illustrious career, as a rapper, producer, and singer. The industry has changed so much since his career began, and Kirk has gone through several different roles, but he has always managed to stay relevant. He has continued to be a huge influence in the music industry, and he has continued to develop as a producer and performer.
One of the biggest names in hip-hop today, Eminem has had a career that has spanned more than 20 years.
